Schools minister Andrew Adonis, a keen supporter of the Music Manifesto, has moved to the Department for Transport in Gordon Brown's latest reshuffle.

Adonis says he told the Prime Minister in the summer that he was ready for a new challenge. We wish him all the best and know he'll continue to champion our cause.

In his place comes Portsmouth MP Sarah McCarthy-Fry, former Parliamentary Private Secratary to Chief Whip Geoff Hoon. According to her biography, Sarah enjoys tap dancing, dog walking and amateur dramatics in her free time and is a fan of The Who. We're looking forward to talking music with her.

In other political moves, Barbara Follet has moved to the DCSF to take over from culture minister Margaret Hodge, who has taken compassionateleave to look after her ill husband.
